Patricia Brier was born and raised in the Seattle area, and except for a brief 5-year stint in Los Angeles, has stayed in the Pacific Northwest, residing now in Edmonds. The contrasts in environment and climate of the area have have sent her seeking intense color against the grays and in the brightness following the storms. The environment has become as much a part of her creative soul as breathing.

Pat's creativity showed itself early when she began using pen and ink to recreate her surroundings. After taking every art course available in high school, she graduated from the Burnley School of Professional Art (now Seattle Art Institute) with a specialty in illustration and graphic design. The artistic journey Pat has since been on has taken her from pen and ink wildlife drawings through watercolor and oil paintings, into the world of photography and further into the digital manipulation of this latest medium. Her focus now is on the many expressions of photography, from portraits and weddings to fine art, nature, travel and more. She has developed a unique gift for combining and digitally enhancing the images she captures on film to create entirely new interpretations of the world her camera sees in the photomontage pieces she creates.
